Every year, the Danswest Tap/Ballet preschool
classes learn a dance called Me and My Teddeybear.
This dance gives our newest
dancers a chance to perform in front of a live audience for the first time! It's a great way to build confidence and a good
preparation for the recital at the end of the year. We perform this dance in December at local Malls and events. Participation
in the performances are optional but definitely encouraged! They are a lot of fun and of course, FREE!
Below you will find a video to help your dancer practice
at home.
WHAT DO I WEAR?
Wear what you would have your Christmas Card pictures taken in, that's the best way to describe it. Please don't
feel obligated to buy anything new, use what you have!
Little Girls: a dress or a skirt and a top, tights, leggings, is all fine. Hair can
be however you like as long as it's not distracting to your dancer. You can replace the black ribbons on the tap shoes
with ribbon to match the outfit if you'd like... double knots! Makeup is at the digression of the parent. Oh, and dont' forget
your teddy bear!
Little Boys:
dress pants or nice jeans with a button down shirt is fine. Ties and vests are good ideas too! Socks and tap shoes,
and of course, a teddy bear

note about tap shoes: If there are any stickers on the tap shoes from class, they need to come OFF for the shows.
To clean them Good Houskeeping says "Put a little mineral oil or petroleum jelly on a soft, clean cloth, then rub the
scuff mark until it goes away. Go over the entire shoe with the remaining oil. Using a clean cloth, buff to a shine -- and
be ready to dance!"
Suggestion:
The mall shows tend to be on tile and it's VERY slippery. Put a small piece of silver duct tape on the bottom of the
taps to keep them from slipping.

We offer 2 seperate dates and times so that you have a couple
options on which performance to attend. Of course, we would love to see at all of them but if you are unable to do both,
that's ok! If for some reason you are unable to attend the date or time assigned to your class, please talk to us so that
we may help you find one that works!
