Danswest Dance Productions, Inc.
Danswest strives to be successful and to provide a clean, safe and healthy environment for everyone. We ask that all students
and parents adhere to the policies.
REGISTRATION: Each student is required to register prior to the first class. Forms are available in the office and
must be signed by a parent if the student is under the age of 18.
Class placement is based upon the student's previous experience. We may ask a dancer with previous experience to participate
in a level lower than their current level so that technique may be evaluated, as dance studios differ in syllabus and requirements.
The Director reserves the right to move dancers accordingly for the best interest of each student.
TUITION: Tuition is due at the first lesson of the month. Tuition will NOT be pro-rated due to missed classes and
is non-refundable. Fees will be pro-rated if you register in the middle of a month. We prefer cash or checks but Master Card
and Visa are accepted. There will be a $10.00 late fee added to all payments made after the 10th of the month. There will
be a $25.00 service charge for all returned checks. Following one returned check, we ask that all subsequent payments be in
cash or credit card. If payment is more than 60 days in arrears, the student will not be able to participate in class until
the payment is made. One one-hour class per week is $42 per month, and additional class fees vary. PLease call for information.
TRIAL CLASSES: You may try a class for $12.00. This fee will be applied to your first month's tuition once you have
registered. There are no free trial classes; however a parent may observe a class at no charge. An appointment can be made
with the instructor.
CLASS SCHEDULES: The schedule is based on anticipated enrollment and may change at any time. Please call prior to attending
class for the first time for verification. Class schedules are available on the web site and at the office. Teachers are also
subject to change on occasion.
ATTENDANCE: Dance is a discipline unto its own and requires regular attendance. Be on time for class as attendance
is taken. Come dressed in the correct attire. A student who is more than 10 minutes late will not be allowed to take the
class because they will have missed the warm up session, which is important to prevent injury. If a parent is late picking
you up, do not leave the building. Wait in the lobby until your ride arrives. Danswest is not responsible for students who
leave the premises for any reason. Parents please deliver and pick up the students on time- remember- we like to go home
too!!
MAKE-UP LESSONS/MISSED CLASSES: Please call if your child must miss a class. Your instructor will be happy to give
you a make-up time. This make-up class must be taken within three (3) weeks after the missed class. There are no carry-overs,
refunds or pro-rated fees due to missed classes due to illness or other attendance problems. A class, which is cancelled
by the studio, will be rescheduled. A doctor's release is required for an injured dancer to return to class. This applies
to a non-dance related injury as well. The studio reserves the right to drop a dancer from a class or routine for excessive
tardiness or absenteeism. Excessive is missing 3 or more classes prior to a performance, recital or competition.
PARENT VIEWING: Parents are allowed in the classroom the very first day of classes. Thereafter, parents only will be
allowed in class during specific observation times set up by the Director. Dancers learn the most in an environment free from
distractions. All students need to be focused in the classroom. Exceptions, with the approval of the teacher, are made for
pre-schoolers who need additional time to feel comfortable and secure.
PRE-SCHOOL REQUIREMENTS: We accept students at age 2-1/2 if they are toilet trained and can count to four. Parents
must use their own discretion when it comes to participation and social skills with other children. Working with your child
at home on how to take direction from teachers and standard class decorum is helpful.
PICTURES AND VIDEOTAPING: We do not allow videotaping of any class. Pictures are allowed only before and after classes,
with the instructor's permission. Videotaping will be allowed during the recital rehearsal only. No videotaping is allowed
at the recital. We have a professional video company taping the recital and the DVD is available for purchase.

Thanksgiving Day - Thursday, November 22nd
Christmas week - Sunday, December 23 thru Tuesday, January 1st
Memorial Day - Monday, May 26th

of others will not be tolerated. Misuse of studio property is not allowed. Please do not play with the stereo equipment or
other props. If a dancer is disruptive and repeatedly asked to behave, he/she may be asked to leave the classroom and wait
in the lobby until the end of class.
